The correct materials and methods for every job
There are the 3 types of remedial ties that we offer for cavity walls, all of which are stainless steel but vary slightly in their design and installation. Depending on the size of the cavity, the strength of your bricks and the current state of the failing ties will depend on which ties will best suit your masonry.
Helical Wall Ties
These ties have a diameter of 9mm and as the name suggest are of a spiral helical design. Pilot holes are made and then these ties are hammered in mechanically. The tie due to its design will grip within an interlocking spiral undercut without putting expansive stress on the brickwork.
Mechanical Expanding Wall Tie Sleeves
These unique Mechanical ties have a durable expandable sleeve. These expandable sleeves lie at each end of a stainless steel bar. The part threaded nut once rotated turns the bar which forces open the sleeve. They are extremely tolerant and due to their rapidly expanding sleeve suitable most circumstances.
Resin Grouted Stainless Steel Wall Tie
These ties are also spiral rods but 5mm in diameter. These slimmer spiral ties give great flexibility while at the same time the deep helix offers super keying when combined with wall tie resin or grout. The most sympathetic repair due to their small bore size and also remarkably tolerant to material variation.
